New intel director vows to exert control
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama’s nominee to oversee the nation’s intelligence community vowed Tuesday to “push the envelope” in broadening his authority and pledged that he would not be a “hood ornament” for a system marked by the recent massive expansion of top-secret agencies and contracts.
